Group Leader Positions at National Institute of Biological Sciences,Beijing

Principal Investigators: National Institute of Biological SciencesBeijing (NIBS) (http://www.nibs.ac.cn) is a leading research institute in biomedical sciences funded by Chinese government. NIBS is seeking multiple outstanding Principal Investigators (PI) to carry out internationally competitive research in life sciences. Successful candidates are expected to lead independent research laboratories to study mechanism-based biological processes. NIBS has been also committed in building a strong program in translational research, and candidates with interest and strong track record in disease-related research or medicinal chemistry/drug discovery are also welcome to apply. NIBS aims to be an international competitive research institute and candidates with high confidence of doing creative research and strong ambition of making high-impact discoveries are particularly welcome. Qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. degree with several years of postdoctoral training or industrial experience. Successful candidates are selected solely based on their scientific qualification regardless of gender, nationality and race.

NIBS provides generous start-up packages and internationally competitive salaries/benefits to the PIs. NIBS has also established a highly stimulating and efficient research environment, including easy-to-access state-of-the-art core facilities covering most of modern biological and chemical technology needs of laboratories studying life science, strong administrative supports, outstanding graduate programs, and opportunities for substantial communications with the international scientific community, which enables the PIs to conduct significant and creative research on his/her own will. NIBS so far has demonstrated outstanding track record in helping its PIs to establish their globally relevant research career in China. The initial appointment for PIs will be 5 years, with full funding support from the Chinese government. Renewal of the appointment will be based on merit and is conditional upon passing reviews by an international committee.
